Bringing this one up from the dead again...
After a bit more haggling, mainly due to delays on their part, I finally got the keys to the property yesterday.
I can't wait for people to start telling me I've made a huge mistake, and that I should have saved my £12k deposit and rented (despite the fact that people who rent will be in a competitive market).
I can't wait for property prices to drop (honestly). The rest of the shares become affordable, so I'll buy them.
I can't wait for property prices to rise (honestly). The share I own becomes higher in value, so I'll sell (although it might be hard to find a buyer in the market - but the HA still have a buyback option).
In short, it's great to have my first property, and whatever the market does I think there's a solution.
Even better that we managed to haggle them down - twice!0 -
