I have been trying to sort my files out and put all of my nearly 2000 photos into one folder and deleted some other stuff and moved stuff round, now i cant find the photos! I restored everything in my recycle bin and set my computer back to last weeks restore point and still cant find them! I tried doing a search on the c drive and some of the folders come up but when I click on them it says it cannot find them (even though theres a little preveiw of it in the bottom left hand corner! I'm sooooo worried as theese are all the photos I've taken of my kids since they were born! and my wedding photos!

Quite simple, just restore them from your back-ups.
You did make back-up copies didn't you? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

System Restore won't restore user files. If you had Vista Ultimate or Business, you could restore a previous copy which was made using the Shadow Copy Service.0

There's something odd going on there. Possibly your hard drive is corrupted? Have your tried checking the drive out?
If not, open a Command Prompt and type
chkdsk c: /f
If you then reboot it will check the disk before starting Windows.0 -

Sorry, I don't know how to check the hard drive in Vista, but someone else who does should be along in a minute or two...0

I wonder if you've dragged/dropped them into the wrong place.
Have you done a search for them? Using Start, Search.... ?0 -
