Bluetooth headset is for taking calls without holding the phone to your ear ie in the car whilst driving, for transfering photos and mp3s you will need a bluetooth adaptor aka dongle and these can be picked up for £15+ depending on which one and is easy to use. Anything else just ask;)
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

so if i get a bluetooth dongle can i then transfer mp3's from windows media player to my d500 somehow? and do i need a headset as well or just the dongle
  • You only need the dongle to transfer files to the phone, but you would need a headset for making/receiving calls etc.

You may actually be better off buying the data cable for the D500 - costs between £5 & £10 depending on where you get it from, but it comes with software that lets you not only transfer files but also manage your contacts etc.

Worth getting that even just for the cost saving, unless of course you specifically want the wireless-ness of a bluetooth dongle.

  • You can use either, it's really down to personal preference. The only real advantage of using a data cable is that you get the software with it that is designed to be used with your phone (as mentioned previously, this lets you access and edit your contact list etc).

Basically, the cable plugs into your USB port on the computer at one end, and at the bottom of your phone at the other. Your computer then recognises your phone and lets you interact with it.

Like I say, either will accomplish the task - the cable route is just cheaper and you get the software (i.e I think you will find it easier to get your head around)

There seems to be a load on ebay for £4.99, although I haven't looked to see what extras you get or what P&P charges are.

In terms of online retailers, these two seem ok:-

Cable & Software for £6.89 here

Cable, Software & Ringtones for £6.99 here

did you get a c/d with the lead, there should be programs on there you can use to transfer files from pc- fone and vice versa.

just install the program, conect the lead to phone n pc, open program, transfer the files you want on to your phone
