Thankfully it's back on now guys! Panic initially as I need to move money ASAP.

It's probably the "Northern Rock" effect kicking into action. ;)

This website failure of icesave has been reported before and when I've checked fairly frequently as I have just opened up a 1yr fixed it's always been up, but I have noticed that they use a similar User name structure to Bradford & Bingley as I also have online account with them. Possibly they could be sharing some of their IT facilities, especially as the postcodes are rather close.

They are, all the back-office admin is Newcastle BS, as I believe is B&B.

The internet banking section of the Icesave website is down again at present.

This is really unimpressive. The site has been down (at least intermittently?) since last night at least, yet although the public-facing website is still up, there's no status message or ETA for a fix anywhere on it. For a supposedly-reputable European bank, that's a pretty poor show.

    Customers need to know:
    • that Icesave are aware of the problem
    • what is wrong
    • that our money is secure
    • an estimate for when the problem will be fixed
I don't think the above is too much to ask.

Has anybody been in touch with Icesave by other means and got any updates from them?

(Incidentally, the "error reference number" appears to be nothing more meaningful than the timestamp of when the login attempt failed.)

    Sod's law, eh?
Almost no sooner had I posted to grumble, than I manage to login successfully (after about the 5th attempt). Hopefully it's just a case of Icesave needing to throw some more server resources at the system, and not the site undergoing some malicious cracking or DoS attempt..
