I can offer no resistance, I can offer no respite
Wake me when conflict is over,
I aim for a peaceful life,
Wake me up when the fury is ended
I like living a peaceful life

I aim for a peaceful life,
Wake me up when the fury is ended
I like living a peaceful life

The only things I liked off my kids at that age was something they helped to make. The pamper day was a nice idea , but it wasn't really something the child thought of or paid for was it, so it was really from the husband to his wife.
A pressie that would take five minutes time to make with the child is a handprint (of the child obviously  ) with this poem (or another like it from HERE)
A Reminder
This is to remind you
When I have grown so tall,
That once I was quite little
And my hands were very small.
Print the poem off, stick on a handprint, frame it and you're done.I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

I agree with Trix.
Something made with love from a 2 year old.
I still have home made collage cards made by my now 16 year old and I still feel happy inside when i see them.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I agree with both of the above, it's very nice to receive expensive gifts, but as a mum I always feel a little bit special when my children make things for me. It doesn't have to look special in fact it could be hideous but it definitely is the thought that counts.0

a similar idea to the hand print is a foot print in clay.....
get some clay from an art shop, make into a circle, they press against the childs foot.
my kids did both the hand print on paper and foot print in clay when they where little..... currently stored somewhere in boxes in the loft...smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I have both my boys painted hand prints from when they were at kindergarden aged four and on the paper under their hand prints is a poem. as follows:-
There used to be so many of my finger prints to see,
On furniture and walls and things from sticky, grubby me.
But if you stop and think a while
you'll see I'm growing fast,
Those little hand prints disappear,
You can't bring back what is past.
So here's a small reminder,
To keep not wipe away,
Of tiny hands and how they looked,
To make you smile one day.

awww, i love those hand and footprint piccies
if you already have them, what about potato painting??52% tight0 -
Where we live are lots of "come paint a plate" studios where you can take kids and they can paint a plate/mug etc...then it takes a couple of hours to fire before you can pick it up.
Or, if he really gets stuck for time, how about a "do it" present - sit her down at a laid table with lots of crooked 2 year old cut out bright bits of coloured paper all over it and balloons - and he can "cook and serve" dinner with the 2 year old - I'm sure that will be a unique meal LOL. Perhaps a really colourful cold meal - a really posh pate and toast to start, then a caeser salad with chicken? that sort of thing. Something a 2 year old can arrange on the plates themselves in a wonky kind of way. Or bake and decorate a special cake?0 -
If you do potato painting then there really will be alot of finger prints.

I was just thinking that!! They are great arent they - I took my friend for her 21st birthday a couple of years ago and she thought it was the best thing ever. She also made her mum a gift as it was nearly mothers day, and apparently she cried!! It reminded her of when the kids were small or something, but anyway - that went down a storm.
