Sorry but if they can't work out for themselves that there is customer demand without resorting to this type of, frankly amaturish tactic, then they should remain in their oaklined offices. There is so much consumer research on this type of topic from companies like Mintel etc. you just wonder where these people have been!0

Building societies like Chelsea and Westbromwich have neither launched online accounts nore asked its members if they would like online accounts.0 -

Not excusing them, however, the Chelsea has a strange 'postal' model and the West Brom does have online accounts albeit restricted to a bond.
I just find it incredible that the Newbury need to ask!
These institutions will regret it when they can't drive customers into their branches without paying top dollar anyway and don't realise any of the reduced costs of an internet model0 -

Are u saying that Westbromwich Bond Application form doesnt have to be printed off and posted to them.( I thought i was applying online for its new 6.55% account, reached the end, found it had to be printed off and posted, i was on PC upstairs and printer is downstairs. :mad: )

Westbromwich Site has no register or log in facility for online access, Most Building Society Sites have a facility for merely completing an application form, printing it off and then using snail mail.0 -
