in Credit cards
Hi all,
I need your advice on something.
I have looked into the Virgin credit card to BT debts on 2 storecards and overdraft & debt to my mum. They will not charge a handling charge for the BT to the storecards as they can be done at the time I take the cards out, but will charge 2% handling charge on BT done after the card is issued. I have to wait till the card is issued before they will deal with BT the overdraft & debt to my mum, this will work out as £18 handling charge (that will be added to the bal of the card & charged at 0% interest).
Now for my tight wad question (well, look after the pennies...)! Can I avoid the 2% handling charge by requesting that they pay too much onto the storecards, then I can have the storecards refund the overpayment to me & use the cash to pay the overdraft & mum. Or, if I do this (presuming I can/they do) will they refund the money back onto the credit card rather than me anyway?
I have asked Virgin if they would consider not charging me a handling charge as an incentive to go with them as otherwise they're card is no better than the other cards I've looked at that offer SBTs but to they said no
While I'm here I may as well ask if anyone knows of a better SBT deal than the one Virgin has at the moment?
Thanks in advance,
Adele
