Tax Credits Error

I got my annual review letter last week saying last years claim was correct, and showing payments for this year.

I got a letter from tax credits today, saying I have to pay back the last years Working Tax Credit as I wasn't entitled to it

On phoning them up, the lady has records of all my pay from PAYE and my earnings from self employment on the system. However the people who set the awards have decided that in the last tax year I only worked for 2 days

It's now up to me to prove that I worked the full tax year and I have to write a letter of appeal asking them to reconsider the second decision.

I just don't understand why everything was correct last week, but this week they claim I didn't work last year

I've got payslips from PAYE to prove I was working, and a full set of accounts which was declared on my tax return, so surely they can see I worked more than 2 days

Confused and cross now
Here I go again on my own....

Can't be bothered with the Tax Credits anymore. I frequently receive several differing letters from them. Last year they said that I owed approximatley £700 but was entitled to £40 PM. The payments were suspended to allow the repayment. Then i received the £40 PM for a couple of months. Now I have been told I owe approimately £700 (again!), but am entitled to £38 PM. Needless to say the payments have been suspended to pay back the alleged overpayment.

I really can't be bothered with them anymore. They can take their money and put it somewhere the sun don't shine.

    Becles,

I would try phoning again and write down what they say. I had different awards and a mistake on their part which I was eventually told was fine. If you've given them all the info there shouldn't be any need for extra proof. I hope you get it sorted out.
