Are you being paid for the kids through income support? If you are, which I would assume is the case if you get £107 p/w, you cannot claim child tax credits. If you claim CTC you would need to stop claiming for the kids through income support. Save yourself the hassle with CTC for the time being and stick with the income support.0

how do you claim income support for kids thought it was to support adults and ct to support children?0

Hi, I have two kids over 8 (but under 16) and I am also a single parent. I get Housing Benefit,
Council Tax benefit,
Child Benefit of £120.80 every four weeks,
Income Support at £125.28 every week and
Maintanence of £15 per week.
So I have £170.48 per week for food, bills etc. No milk tokens, obviously.
So I would say you are not getting enough...Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.

Do you not claim child tax?0 -
As far as I am aware, income support was to support adults and their children if they had any. But the child elements changed to CTC a few years ago. From what Rupa has said, I stand corrected and perhaps you are not receiving the correct amounts. If you do not receive the child element of income support, give the tax credit helpline and get them to send a claim pack out. 0845 300 3900.0

Cassie you could apply for CTC and then inform IS, eventually all LP's on IS wont be paid the child element , seems to be taking a while for everyone to be switched over, have a look at www.entitledto.co.uk in the meantime0

Milk tokens are just known as Healthy Start vouchers now, they still exist just you can use them for fruit and veg as well (they only go up to age 4 though now as my son turned 4 last month and they stopped)0
