Sri Lanka - cheap flights

I'm looking to take the other half away to Sri Lanka between about Aug 13 and Sep 3, but I'm having difficulty finding flights for less than £600pp return. I've tried all the usual suspects, and those brokers suggested in the travel editorials, but to no avail. Any help - or even hints or tips about travelling in Sri Lanka - appreciated!

Many thanks guys - have obtained flights at £600 each (ouch...I know...but we don't get the chance to go away that often - got to bite the bullet!) now I just have to find a cheap hotel in Doha for the layover!0
