Sri Lanka - cheap flights

I'm looking to take the other half away to Sri Lanka between about Aug 13 and Sep 3, but I'm having difficulty finding flights for less than £600pp return. I've tried all the usual suspects, and those brokers suggested in the travel editorials, but to no avail. Any help - or even hints or tips about travelling in Sri Lanka - appreciated!

The only direct flights between the UK and Sri Lanka are with Sri Lankan airlines, any others and you will have to chnage.

Don't know if you want to go direct or not but https://www.airline-network.co.uk are doing etihad for £506 on the 15thAug

Many thanks guys - have obtained flights at £600 each (ouch...I know...but we don't get the chance to go away that often - got to bite the bullet!) now I just have to find a cheap hotel in Doha for the layover!

Teletext always have great deals on. You could get all inclusive 7/14 day 5 star holidays in the Indian Ocean for as little as £600/£800!
