ICICI application - no response

I applied for the HiSave account on 1st July and supposedly they were to send out a confirmation email within 2 days. I have not heard from them and my email quoting the reference number remained unanswered too.

Are they swamped or what? Does anybody else have the same problems?

Applied online 30th June, received confirmation email of application same day, received account opening letter 8th July asking to send cheque from linked current account, sent this cheque (£1) yesterday 11th July, will see how lomg that takes then will try a transfer.

I applied 2nd July, no confirmation either. ICICI was featured on BBC Radio 4's moneybox at the weekend, so if they were swamped before, it will only get worse now.
