    Hi guys,

Ms Chazzer if you want to have multi coloured or patterned bunting try shops that specialise in selling curtains (and similar) as they often get rid of their sample books periodically and you could scrounge the old ones to use. They tend to be the perfect size too.

Also, I have used our local scrap store which is given donations of bottles, plastic tubs, coloured celophane etc from factories and businesses that can be used for crafts. It is usually for childrens groups but I work with people who have a learning disability and their craft group also use it. Our local one costs around £35 for a year but you can take as much as you want. If there are others in your area you could share the cost but use the same card to access the materials. Just a thought, hope it helps!!
  • Oh yes, scrap stores are great! I'm making the bunting for outside, I bought a white sheet in the Ikea bargain area for this. One of my sisters is doing the coloured inside bunting, she's a graphic designer and is interested in fabric design so I'm letting her get creative (within reason!). She doesn't live too far from The Fent shop in North Yorkshire which is good for cheap fabric and scraps.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I'm hoping to make bunting to decorate the venue. And a brooch bouquet- if I ever manage to collect enough brooches!

cupcake wrappers are so expensive but if you search on the net you can get templates and make some gorgeu ones, but a hole punch and you can make fancier ones or use the edging of a doily and that looks really good too - no paying a fortune for something that ends up getting binned anyway

another idea for 'cheap' bunting is to use plastic shower curtains from the £1 shop (often in a pack of two), cut out into triangles using a triangle template and thread onto long lengths of wool. Useful for decorating outside as it is waterproof.
