IJTDirect.co.uk Problems

A question for the good folks here. I've bought a pair of colour cartrdiges from http://www.ijtdirect.co.uk/, The problem I have, is that neither work, I complain and get fobbed off by someone on the phone (who really did sound arrogant) saying I should leave the cartridges to stand upright for a day and then all will be ok. Now, I've left them standing several days and neither work.
I had bough a pair of colours for my printer a while back from them. One worked fine, and when it ran out, I used the other one and it too didn't work, but I assumed it may have been the length of time I had left catridges and ordered again.
Has anyone else had any problems with them?

I've never used any other company than: http://www.choicestationery.co.uk/ and never had a reason to complain, though I did receive a cartridge that didn't work once, they sent me a replacement the next day and told me to bin the one that didn't work.
I would nexttime ask for advice on printer food and certainly not purchase again from a company that fobbed me off when there was a problem the first time around. It sounds to me as though they've had your particular batch of inks laying around for a while probably somewhere warm and as a consequence they've dried out.
You could probably get the ink out of the cartridge for a short print run by using the following method: Get a shallow bowl, fill it with hot water, put a piece of cellotape over the hole on the bottom and stand the cartridge in it for a couple of minutes. Then remove the cartridge peel off the tape and quickly insert it into your printer, be aware this may end up being a messy process if the ink drops out of the small hole. It shouldn't, as the ink should be so thick that it needs to be sucked out of the hole. But it's always a possibility. Use the ink asap and remove the cartrige and throw it away.
I would however have some replacement ink cartridges to hand to replace it with, as if the ink has gone off it will mean it will dry quickly and you don't want that stuff clogging up the ink heads of your printer, as it has meant for some they needed to purchase another printer or at the very least a new print head. Once you have the new cartridges installed, print off something featuring a variety of colours, or run the 'test cycle' of your printer to ensure you've got a clean flow of ink. Which will in all probability mean that the old ink you've used is flushed from the print heads.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
I personally would not buy re-manufactured cartridges. The laser ones often leak, messing up the internals of the whole machine, and ink ones have trouble too. I do not know if they are tested, or just refilled and sent out? Either refill it your self or bin it - hard to do at work though
Due to their expense, people will try and get free ones. Things I have seen: new ones that don't work-very very rare; people throwing the wrong cartridges away; a person sneaking in and night and doing loads of print outs leaving them nearly empty; half filled cartridges - allegedly; leaky/gushing cartridges-often; inserting the wrong model cartridge; new cartridges that work mysteriously no longer work in the morning and an incompatible cartridge is found in its place.
How to fine if your cartridge is empty of full is by weight and comparing it to a new one.
In AHB's tape method, don't use that tape that leave a residue as it may block the holes. The old deskjet ones had holes it the top which you could put your mouth over and blow in.GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -
I've used them many times and never once had a problem so, I've never had to complain. They first started selling cartridges only but have grown bigger and bigger so maybe now they feel they are big enough to fob off customers.
Pity but that's often the way things go.

I'll give them one more call, not sure if its worth getting the credit card company involved over £30 worth of catridges if they don't co-operate, but I'll decide depending on the response tomorrow. To be honest, I don't use that much ink, but at £34 for a colour cartridge it is a bit of a joke. Also, how many oher HP Deskjet owners find the whole of the inside of the printer covered a a fine layer of ink? I only noticed it after I picked the printer up and noticed it coloured the desk. When I opened it to change the ink, it was completly covered in this fine layer of ink.0

I bought some from IJT about 6 months ago for the first time, the cartridges worked perfectly both colour and black,so I ordered some more. The new batch were crap. 1 cartridge was leaking in the box,1 wouldn't print colours correctly,1 didn't work at all.
I complained to IJT via e mail and was told to put them in warm water, stand them upright etc etc .I did but they still didn,t work.
So I phoned them up told them they were no good and I wanted a refund, sent the faulty cartridges back and got the refund.
Their literature offers a no quibble money back guarantee so I would suggest you claim the refund you are entitled to.
Can anyone recommend decent cheap cartridges that actually work ?

Similar story here - I used IJTDirect.co.uk and when one of their cartridges split when I pulled off the plastic snap-off seal and got my trousers inked (wrote a detailed complaint suggesting they change the seal design), all I got after a lot of faffing was 1 replacement cartridge. Also they palm off the replacement service to someone else. Rather grudging service I thought.

I had a similar problem. Bought a remanufactured HP cart from them last May. When I tried to use it in January streaky magenta. Got a returns number and sent it back. Replacement (which took 7 days to arrive) had NO magenta. They refused cash refund - so its hardly a no quibble guarantee. I bought a repacement from Tesco which worked fine. IJT said they would refund return postal costs 'if I asked'. I asked (wrote for personal attention of MD in Jersey) and am still waiting - but not holding my breath.0
