in Credit cards
As an avid card tart, I have also managed my sons cards the same way for 3 years ( he would never remember to change regularly himself) His latest card is Capital One. Since he took it out 5 months ago, he has paid off a bank loan, and taken out a mortgage on his first home. He has today been refused a Natwest card, even though his new mortgage is with Natwest. The house he has moved into gets regular letters addressed to "the occupier". These are unpaid utility bills usually. He has replied to all of them explaining that the bills do not pertain to him. Is this the reason he has been refused credit? Is it the address & not him that has been refused? If he applies for another card & puts his old address ( ie MINE) will it make a difference? I am aware that there has been increased activity on his credit report lately, but nothing more than normal for someone buying a house. Any help please?

Has he (you) got copies of your (his) credit files from someone like Experian?
This would be my first port of call. It could be that Nat West are being prudent bankers in not increasing his potential liabilities at a particular expensive part of his life.

I do not think that giving a false address would help much................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

thanks for advice. he has decided to phone Natwest & explain . i think they are being a bit too cautious, after all, he already has a credit card with debt on it, he just wants to transfer it to a 0% card.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0
