Hope anyone can help
I have a JVC GR-DX95U dv camcorder that i've owned for a couple of years, over that time its worked great, but last week when i turned it on to start recording something it was a blank screen on the display and the viewfinder, and was telling me that the lenscap is on, i have tried everything but it still just is a blank screen.
Can anyone help, or give me some advice
Cheers

I've owned two JVC camcorders. A few years ago my first one started behaving weirdly after I'd lent it to a colleague, and I suspected she'd dropped it. Messages like lens cap on, plus other symbols appearing in the viewfinder. It was out of guarantee and I replaced it rather than pay for repair.
A couple of years ago I went on a Carribean cruise, and the same thing started happening. I mentioned it to a chap over dinner and he said it was the humidity on board. It sorted itself out in the sunshine. When I got home I dug the old one out, charged the battery.....and it was fine!
That might be your problem.0 -
If you need a new one - Somerfield have Medion DV camcorders for £99 this week.0

I would go with backbiter on this. Have a Panasonic DV camcorder which had problems last week in an air conditioned building, left the camcorder for a few days and was fine after condensation had evaporated.0

ugh..
I really hope that is all there is, i'll take it out into the fresh air and see if it sorts it...fingers crossed.0 -

Do a Google advanced search on the word "jvc" and with the exact phrase "lens cap".
Many people seem to have suffered the same problem and had no help from JVC as far as I can see from looking at a few posts.
The first Google result goes to this 4 page thread

Added the word "error" to the search and got this one. One guy temporarily got his camera working again. Another had the CCD replaced to fix it.
