Hi,
Just seen on the latest Lidl offers starting on 18/07/2005 that they have some bathroom taps, bath-shower mixers, hoses, heads etc going very cheap. For example they have the wall mounted thermostatic shower mixer valve for £14.99. A similar one is going for £60 at screwfix.

whats the returns policy on unused item, my father bought 2 taps (when they were last on offer), he went back to the store and told him coulc not accept it back
thanks in advance.0 -
Lidl ditched their no quibble refund policy ages ago and now will only take things back if there is something wrong with them. The something wrong can be something incredibly minor though.
Don't make purchases on a whim in Lidl anymore, Aldi is the place for that. It definitely seems to be backfiring on them as the piles of last weeks "specials" in the two stores near me gets bigger and bigger.0 -
thanks for info0

The red banner says "Temperature regulation from 20ºC-50ºC", does that mean you couldn't have a cold shower at say, 18ºC?0

I recently installed a thermostatic shower mixer tap unit, similar to the Lidl unit but with bath taps incorporated. It's been brilliant, pure luxury compared to my previous 'traditional' mixer unit. Mind you, I have mains-pressure supplied by my combi-boiler, so I can't say how they'd work on a low-pressure system. I had to get mine from France to get them anywhere near as cheap as Lidl's offer. sorry of it sounds stupid, but the Bath Mixer Tap does not go on the bath or on the wall from the picture it looks like its on a tiled wall. My bath has 2 taps on it and i have been looking to get a mixer but they are pretty expensive wonder if this will work?0

You're right. These units will not fit directly to the bath. You would need a pair of chromed L-bends, I think they're called bath pillars or deck pillars. However, you may have difficulty finding these over here. I got mine from France where I bought the mixer unit.
Additionally watch out - the spacing of the holes on your bath (usually 7" I believe) may not match the spacing of the the hot and cold inlets to the mixer unit. I had this problem with my French taps which were at 150mm (6") spacing. I had to ream out the holes in the bath and fit oversize capping plates.

Will these things only be available monday,or should I try sunday?
If not on sale b4 what time do they open on mon mornings?
Many Thanks0 -
Usually these special items are only on offer from the Monday specified. However, occasionally they've found their way to the shelves earlier. Lidl opens at 9am down my way, Croydon. I don't think there'll be a mad rush for them, so stay cool, Angela!Science without religion is lame,

Interesting comment above re French measurements.
Do you think the single mixer tap for sinks will fit the hole in a British sink?0
