HP Laptop for £280 with free £20 bag and free delivery

http://www.into-laptops.com/public/870.cfm

I have been looking to replace my old desktop for ages now, as I was sick and tired of being locked up in my spare room of an evening doing my money saving web activity.

Well i took the jump last week and purchased a HP 530 notebook for £280 which is a leading brand and fantastic price. This is my first post with it and could not be happier. - wireless so can now save money whist watching the rugby

It is available in all the usual places misco, dabs etc but I got the lowest price after searching the shopping channels at into-laptops.com. It is there deal of the week with a free HP branded notebook case savinig an extra £20 and free delivery.

I would go for the free 7 day delivery as I ordered it Thursday and it arrived the following day.:T

A celeron with 512mb RAM. You're having a laugh. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Yeah I guess if you are a gamer then this is not the machine for you

That said it runs Vista Home and Microsoft Office applications -word excel etc with no fuss and has a good widescreen for watching my DVD's on the move. The clincher for me is that it allows me to do all my work from any room in the house and connect wirelessly to the internet - Good enough for me.

If it was not a HP badge I would have looked twice but they don't produce rubbish, :naughty:
  • Not a bad deal OP, but if you're looking for a sub £300 wireless laptop I'd be tempted to pay £19.99 extra and get the Acer Aspire 5315 from Amazon - it has a slightly faster processor and, crucially, 1GB of RAM - much better for running Vista imho.
Not much wrong with your HP though - I still have a HP desktop and it's been the most reliable PC I've ever had :D
  • it's a shame HP were offering up to £100 cashback on selected models and you could have had this for about £420 before christmas (with £100 cashback)...it had the benefit of xp pro as well

  • Actually, I stand corrected - the processor on the HP model is faster than the Acer. This is a good deal for a budget laptop - the free quality laptop case (for a limited time!) is also a nice addition. I'd recommend upgrading the ram to at least 1GB but that can be done very cheaply
  • Wouldn't touch HP with a bargepole. There customer support is a joke, you only have to look on the HP forums to see the constant problems people have with their laptops.

And if you want to be a MoneySaver you can download OpenOffice instead.

I'm sure if you look at any forum you will see constant problems with all makes. Let's face it - if this was much worse than everyone else it wouldn't exist any more.

  • Looking to get a laptop for my mum. Nothing expensive as it's only to surf the web. She'll not be playing games etc. Any advice please on what to look for and what's a good deal just now. Many thanks in advance.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

Highland_Lass - both the HP and Acer laptops mentioned above in this thread are less than £300 and more than adequate for surfing the web/general PC activities. Any of the latest model laptops (i.e. brand new, not refurbished or old technology at a reduced price) would be fine so it's just a case of finding one at the price that suits you. A lot of the larger supermarkets (i.e. Asda, Tesco, etc...) sell the Acer model, and a friend of mine has one & likes it. Don't be conned into buying extended warranties/support though!
