Hi everyone, hope I have come to the right place as I just can't find anyone who seems to be able to help or advise me. I have just moved into a brand new built 3 storey, 4 bed house. My gas is supplied by e:on (Powergen). I work all day and only have my heating on for about 6 hours a day and my water for 3 hours. I only use my gas cooker (1 ring) for about 20 minutes an evening. In the rooms that are not used the radiator is turned right down to 1 and the thermostat is at a constant 21. My first bill has come through for the two months I have lived here and it is for £169.23, averaging £85.00 per month. This seems excessive to me? Am I right or is it just how much gas costs these days? They say I have used 578 domestic units over these last 8 weeks, please can someone tell me if this seems right or not? The bill is for gas only, not electric, I am on dual fuel and my electricity bill for the same period was only £44.00, both bills are from actual meter readings supplied by me firstly when I moved into the property and secondly when I actually phoned them up to ask for a bill!! Hoping someone can help or advise.

Sounds about right. Bear in mind that the bill was for two of the most expensive months of the year, you will be paying very little during the summer.
