Aaaarrgghh!!! My first NPB...

I put some Store Gift Vouchers on Ebay and they sold for a good price. Then I gets a message from the buyer to say that she doesn't need them anymore as she 'made a mistake' and had bids on 2 lots at the same time and she bought the other lot!! (From a fellow MSE'r if the unusual username is anything to go by!!)
She offered to pay my listing fees. I messaged her with details of how much out of pocket I was and offered the vouchers as a Second Chance to a previous bidder. This was accepted so at least I should get some money for them. I still havent hear anything from the first NPB person regarding payment of my fees.
Now reading up on things on here...I wonder if I've done the right thing?? Should I have waited before going the Second Chance route, refused the offer of payment of fees and gone the NPB dispute route??
Also, the longer it goes on the madder I feel about this NPB person. It doesn't seem right to accept behaviour like this. Can I still start a NPB procedure against her even though I, (seemingly), accepted her offer to pay my fees?? It's 5 days now since the auction ended.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated

I had something similar happen to me.
I sold an item before Christmas (one of my first sales) and 10 days later I got a message saying something like 'I can't buy this anymore, can you please relist, thanks'. I was a bit miffed at first but thought oh well (had never even heard of the NPB reporting at this point). Then my other half looked at the bidder's profile and realised he had bought the same item used (mine was new) before he bought mine! I was fuming so I just opened an NPB dispute on the advice of a friend without emailing back or anything. I was quite shocked when he paid up the next day and started to feel bad as he only had 4 feedback and was probably just inexperienced like myself.
He's never given me feedback, nor I him.
I feel pretty bad about it on reflection so maybe you did the right thing.0 -
You could do this if you have both agreed not to complete the transaction.
Mutual agreement indication. If the seller indicates that a mutual agreement has been reached with the buyer not to complete the transaction, eBay will ask the buyer for confirmation through an email and pop-up message.- If the buyer confirms the seller's statement about mutual agreement not to complete the transaction, the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike and the seller will receive a Final Value Fee credit.
- If the buyer disagrees with the seller's statement on mutual agreement, the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike and the seller will not receive a Final Value Fee credit. The dispute will be closed immediately after the buyer responds and the seller will not be eligible to re-file an Unpaid Item dispute for that transaction.
- If the buyer does not respond to the email or pop-up message within seven days then the seller will be able to close the dispute. The seller will receive a Final Value Fee credit and the buyer will not receive a strike.

What's her feedback like?
You might want to have a look before filing a mutual from what i've read on here but I'm a newbie at Ebay so I could be wrong.
Good luck sorting it.

Someone daft enough to accidentally win multiple items should not be trusted with a mutual dispute... imho.
All they have to do is click the wrong button, and you'll have lost your fees.My TV is broken!

She's quite an experienced ebayer with pos feedback of 99% on over 100 transactions. The 1% neg was a dispute over a lost in the post item.
I find it hard to believe that anyone can 'forget' a bid??!! And it's not as if it is a specific item...the blooming vouchers, (£20 of them), can be used on millions of things. If I had made a 'mistake' like that I would have just gone ahead, completed the transaction, either used them or sold them on, and made sure I didn't do it again.
I just feel that some sort of 'slap on the wrist' is called for here...at least as a warning to other sellers, or am I being a little harsh????

Well... she's offered to pay the fees. Give her as long as you think is appropriate to do so.
When she's exhausted your goodwill, open a NPB dispute. My TV is broken!
