Icesave ISA or Council Home - which would you choose?

Agreed Steve.
1. You have to have your house for at least 5 years before you sell it.
2. There is funnily enough a p-rocess to modernise this area, which has not come around to us as of yet. And i thought id like to jump on the bandwagon before they actually do anything to our house. Hence a cheaper valuation.
3. The reducing of discounts i have no idea about but do you know something i dont? - Is there any word of removing the discount?
Thanks mate,.0 -
No, I haven't heard that the government are planning to reduce the discounts. But this government has put a ceiling on the amount of discount you can have.
Not so long ago they were carping on about there being a shortage of housing so I guess that might be an indicator that they're not overly happy at the amount of so called 'social-housing' that is being taken into private hands.
Why don't you get a feeling for the costings by having your local authority give you a valuation now. Then you can decide whether or not to go for it.
Is there an option for you to rent it out if you didn't want to stay there for the full 5 years?0 -
I think i might just do that.
I dont think there is an option to rent but im not too fussed, i think in the long run, this is a better option that should pay off well for us.
I wanted to start my own business at 30, but i can hang fire until 320
