LEP Group PLC

In 1987 I bought £1000 worth of LEP group PLC shares. Eventually I believe that they were taken over for a nominal sum by a management buy out. I have changed address since I bought them and as they were virtually worthless I didn't bother to in form anyone. Now I am in the position of trying to reduce a capital gains tax requirement and as such I would like to set off my loss with LEP. I can find nothing about them on Google that helps. Can anybody direct me to a site that shows what has happened to shares like this, or does anybody know what has happened. Ideally I would like to know if they still axist and who their registrars are. TIA
