    What was it?

The on/off/speed switch on the side kept on flying off! I would start to use the mixer, then the knob would ping out the side & couldn't switch the thing off except by unplugging it!
But now it is back on again, but with a screw fastened through the part of the switch that you hold - with a bit of blue tac on the sharp end of the screw! (does that make sense?) Anyway, it seems to work - for the time being at least!) :j
  • I have an old Kenwood food processor - had it over 20 years, it was one of the first ones to come out, I think. It is great, I use it loads. Favourite things I make in it are pastry, burgers / meat balls from raw minced beef / pork / lamb / chicken / turkey, mincing / shredding meats, fresh breadcrumbs, coleslaw, blending soups / sauces, chopping and grating all sorts of things, cakes, meringues, mashing potatoes, whipping up cream, the list is endless.

Edited to add that I used to make DS's baby meals in it too as he had numerous food allergies as a baby and I had to cook everything from scratch to be sure what he was eating would not harm him - no little Heinz jars for us!

It is on its last legs now, it sounded a bit jaded last night when I whizzed up some meatballs. It is so useful, it definately will be replaced the moment it clacks out.

Not to sure about biscuits but have you considered a Breadmaker? For cakes, Buns and err..bread the Panasonic SD253 is excellent.

My Mum's Kenwood chef is over 30 year old and still works. These truly are amazng machines. The motor does smell a bit when you have it on high power, though. ;)

For baking, i wouldnt be without my hand blender, you can pick them up cheaply in Argos, and the most basdic one will give you good results, and the best thing is they are easier to wash than a big food processor!!!!
