• Hi all,

Thanks to everyone that answered!

After all of that, Three decided that they'd made a mistake and that they actually owed my girlfriend £23.00 ........ what a load of T***ERS!!!!!!

After this experience, with the debt collection threats, and the contract that we couldn't change, even thought we were told we could..... I'd stay away from 3 and there special offers.

I reported Three to Trading Standards because the phone I ordered I was told had Satnav but it wasn't supplied with the Satnav software nor a GPS receiver even if it did have the Satnav.
I ordered over the net and when I rang them they said I could not cancel because I'd opened the contents and called them using the phone. When I said well how else would I have known it didn't have the Satnav software they said the phone didn't come with it and wouldn't listen when I said I was told it would.
I later found out from Trading Standards that Three should have cancelled citing the distance act ordering over the net but I was satisfied when Trading Standards rang back for more details and faxes regarding the paperwork sent to me and said they would be taking this up with Three.

• Hi, like many people in here i'm off on a rant. I have been with 3 for a few years now and originally thought that they might be a better provider of mobile services after my endless problems with O2. Anywho, I come back off a two week holiday last september 08 to find that my phone was suffering with signal strength/coverage at home and no signal at all in my work place. I leave it a little while thinking perhaps there was another problem and it would resolve itself. In the mean time my partner who was also with 3 at the time began to suffer also. So she pops into the local 3 store and informs them of her problems, they phoned customer services on her behalf and tell her sorry for the problems and due to the fact they had changed networks from O2 to Orange theyu cancel her contract at the end of the month. Job done. So I do the same a week or so later and am told to they will send me a new sim, it must be that.... ok... new sim, same problem. Phone again, told each time I want to use the phone I must switch to the 2G network, not happy bout it but ok. Send a letter to 3 in glasgow and get a phone call regarding it on Christmas eve, they gent on the other end informs me my signal is poor, but all is being made better because they are putting a new antenna up in my area. IN FEBRUARY!!!! ah yeah, and it might not make too much difference if any. I'm sick of this now and just want out. Apparently I missed the 28 day get in touch date to "get out free" and apparently I was sent a text message while I was away on holiday explaining the change in service..... No I wasn't, nether did the miss. What can I do now? any ideas? Help needed.

Thanks for reading this far.

Cheers in advance.

• Sorry just had the most disasterous time with 3 and had to vent somewhere....

Basically since getting the 3 mobile broadband service i have been told that i cannot recieve signal in the area i live despite recieving and being able to use for about 5 months. After numerous calls i was told they would be installing a mask five minutes from my home (a common statement by them i believe). After being given a credit for the line rental i was told that month that no money would be taken from my bank account. Surprisingly enough they did take money sending me over drawn causing another complaint.

After resolving the problems above i have now had the most distressing time ever. Following my marriage in may i contacted 3 cs and asked what i needed to do to change my name. I was told to send my certificate in with a covering letter. This is did and recieved a sms from 3 to say my details have been updated. 2 weeks later and there was no sign of my certificate so last night i called them asking when to expect it only to be told they have DESTROYED it. When i queried this they stated that their policy with all documents is to destroy them!!!! I have only been married for 3 months to be told my marriage certificate has been destroyed.

After lots of venting on the phone last night i was called today and on enquiring where the caller was based was told in INDIA. I asked to speak to someone in the UK in glasgow who would have dealt with my detail change..... no this could not be done. After lots of shouting and tears they agreed to pay the £10 i was requesting for the replacement certificate oh yes and they added a extra £5 for the problem it caused. Yes thats right no apology just you shouldnt have sent in the original - when i was told clearly by them thats what i had to do.

I told them i wanted to cancel my contract following the 3 problems i have encountered this being by far the worst of them... and they ignored my request. I am now writing a formal complaint explaining the problems encountered as well as the fact that i will be cancelling my account with them despite still having 6 months left on my contract. They have destroyed my trust in them.

My question is how dare they destroy a legal document not belonging to them without my permission, when i expressly wrote in the accompanying letter to them i wanted it returned asap.

Whatever you do do not go woth 3

I'll move this thread to the 'Praise, Vent & Warnings' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

• Three are by far the worst phone company i have had the misfortune of having dealings with. would not take no for a answer, and continued to try to bill me after i had cancelled the contract. When i tried to sort it out, only telephone number is for the call centre in mumbai, (i appreciate they have a job to do)who dont listen and amazingly tried to offer me a further contract! Eventually got it sorted after 5 phonecalls,(one lasting 45 mins) but probable paid that much in the 5 phonecalls.
