Forgotten XP Pro password, tried everything, please help!

Oh gosh, you've all replied at once! Okay, I've tried booting into safe mode and had no joy. Hoofehearted I think that's the file I've been downloading, I've clicked to download it, clicked save but haven't unzipped it as the other guys told me not to?

Okay, i think it is now burned! So presumably now I need to make sure the laptop is set up to boot from the cd drive. I press F12 continuously at start up and ask it to do this right?

Okay, it's booted and I have all sorts of writing allover the screen! !!!!!!, what the hell do I do now?! I'm trying to follow the instructions on the site where I downloaded the disc but I don't really understand it?

Select which part of registry to load, use predefined choices
or list the files with space as delimiter
1 - Password reset [sam system security]
2 - RecoveryConsole parameters [software]
q - quit - return to previous

I didn't get to that point no? It was asking about drivers and kept going around it seemed in circles. Ended up switching the stupid thing off. i'll give it another go once I've put the kids to bed, it's hard trying to concentrate with them around!
