hi, apologies if this has come up before.
For some reason over the last few days, my laptop is only picking up the wireless connection when the PC switches on (by the time the desktop comes up, laptop has connected to the wireles). But laptop stays connected if i switch the computer off again (!)
The router is connected to the modem via the PC and has been working fine up til a few days ago. Its a netgear router and laptop is windows vista.
Needless to say, its a pain having to switch PC on. Im assuming something has switched off somewhere but as i am a novice-i have no idea what it could be.
Can anyone help?
thanks

try rebooting the router first.
if no joy then try resetting the router to the default and configure again from scratch.Get some gorm.0 -
I saw this problem recently.
A friend bought a new multi-socket extension lead which 'magically' switched off all accessories when the PC was switched off. So his wireless router was switched off when he turned off his PC.
Solution... plug the router into a seperate power socket.0
