hot water tank

should the thermostat be set to 60°C.we are on e7 and its heats up during the night, but after 1 bath its gone luke warm or cold, i emtied the tank the other day and mearured 6 buckets of hot water before it went cold, even tho the tank is surpose to hold 117L
it was set at 55°C. its been working fine before this the water was hot during the day. just dont seem to be getting a lot of hot water.
our washing machine is cold fed, so i know thats not using the hot water.
the council came round last week and said it needed replacing, but after 2 weeks waiting i was told they were not replacing it.so i asked them to come round and do or fix it, so today he came round and just said turn it upto 65c
which has me worried now as electric and gas going up in prices it will use more electric,
he told me that 'Greenfields' who took over braintree district council, after promising more money to fix and repair and how we would be better off with them and everyone voted them to take over and Goverment gave the green light, dont want to fix it , just leave it there only change it if it has a leak, so in the mean time i have a tank not giving me a full tank of hot water, even the chap from council said it needs replacing but they wont do it.

You need a minimum of 60 anyway to eliminate the possibility of Legionella Bacteria.

Good point but I have had a one immersion cylinder on an E7 tariff. Don't forget the thermostats on these things aren't very accurate and 55 on one could be 60 on another.
