Budget Insurance nightmare
Has anyone used Budget Insurance and found they are a nightmare to deal with ??
I moved my car insurance to this company 2 months ago, they are still asking for various documents I have already supplied.
Their customer service is based in India.
Their letters have no contact number in the UK.
Few weeks ago, Budget told me to contact underwriter direct to resolve problem, the underwriter was furious & himself said they were a nightmare company to deal with.

I too had my car insured with budget and found they were a nightmare!
I changed my car halfway through the policy and was told I was entitled to a refund due to difference in the preimum - never got it!
Car was then involved in a hit and run and the company were so hard to deal with. I had to deal with underwirters directly aswell - I thought that was what I paid insurnce for!!0 -

If they are this bad on starting a new policy, who knows what they will be like dealing with a claim.
Before I was with Churchill Insurance for many years, with no problems & 2 accident claims.
Come back Churchill, all is forgiven.

I'm absolutely livid with Budget at the moment
Their call centre girls seem to typify the "Computer says no" type attitude Little Britain parodies. I've spoken to four today and only one came close to being friendly and helpful.
I have bought a new car, two or three insurance groups lower than my old car. I rang to get my policy changed, they want a payment of £140 from me as the policy is more expensive than the one for my old car. Over a year, this policy is £200 more than the online quote Money Supermarket gave me from Budget. I asked about cancelling my current insurance and the cancellation fees on my policy are ridiculous - I've been on this policy for just under 3 months. I was offered a refund which worked out to about 3 months worth of cover on the old policy when there are 9 months to run.
I'm currently trying to find an address to write a letter of complaint to. Unless there's some serious back tracking apologising and refunding, which I doubt, there's absolutely no way I'm going to ever use budget again once this policy runs out.
I am fully expecting to get to the garage to pick up my new car to find out they haven't sent a cover note and the garage won't have been able to tax the car.0 -

When I had problems with Budget I realised the cancellation charges could be very high.

Budget are awful. They cancelled my wife's policy after claiming an overdue payment and an administration fee (of around £20), and are trying to make us pay over £200 for our decision to cancel - umm, hang on a minute?
We submitted a complaint, but their response was incomplete and full of missing information. They never mentioned the numerous telephone calls, and it appears the important stuff doesn't get logged!
Next thing we know, we have a debt recovery firm on our back asking for the payment despite Budget never actually confirming that we still needed to pay.
We are now raising it with the financial ombudsman, but don't believe we'll get anywhere as we have none of the letters and they deny they're in existence!0 -
