you talk about "goin mental" on your card which i can only presume meens spending more than you would have otherwise.

    1. You want to build up your credit history without getting into loads of debt so only spend what you can afford and pay it back every month so no interest.

    2. Make sure you check clearly with the card company, what your limit is as if you go over they will hammer you with charges.

If its capital one that you are talking about - use there online banking facility to see how much your limit is and what kind of card you have!

quazimodo, which credit provider is it from?
    I know nothing
  • Ignore me - turns out Capital One doesn't like Firefox. Can't get the online banking link unless I use IE6.

It is doubtful - It also says you have to be 21 and earning over £10000, my student friend is 19, has no job, and did not lie on the application, they gave him a phone number to call and offered him £2500 immediately. Maybe they just give you platinum deal - but only a small limit.

yup c1 plat and crappy £200 LOL better than nothing.Does anybody have tips on how to get the credit limited uped for me. :j
  • Unfortunately the best way is to keep within the credit limit and use the card sensibly and then over a period of time the limit will automatically get increased. I used to have a limit of £250 on a Barclay Card which over about 3 years was increased to £10k+ without ever asking. It seemed like after the initial period whenever I got close to the limit it increased automatically on the next statement. It's also worth noting that I've always paid the balance off in full at the end of the month and have never paid interest, although I suspect something similar happens if you don't repay - just make sure you at least keep up the minimum payments or they'll treat you as a bad credit risk.
