Car Insurance Renewal

Car insurance was automatically renewed 9th Jan by direct debit. I now live in Spain and do not use the car anymore or need insurance. I was refused a refund as the certificate was sent to my address in the Uk and they can´t cancel the policy without the certificate. Any help???

Ask them if they will accept a signed declaration instead of the certificate.

Does anyone ever go to your property in the UK?
Could you ask them to pass it on?

So if there is a small fire or flood then no-one can get inside !!!

I would do what raskazz said and see what they will accept.
I would also check your home insurance to see if the buildings/contents are covered whilst you are living somewhere else and the place is unoccupied.
