Medion woes, and MCOL advice

Having a nightmare with Medion, the company that supply the cheap hardware to Aldi, it all started when I bought a combi micro/oven, the unit came with a 3 yr warranty and all was fine for a year then the element exploded rendering the unit useless, this was sent back for a replacement and recieved one back quite promptly, so all was good, until 8 months later the new unit suffered the same fate, this is where it got interesting.

They had no more units to send to us so we asked if we could have a refund, after about a month of back and forth they agreed and told us to send a copy of the reciept etc, the 1st time they said they never recieved it, fine, I send another using signed for post, I got electronic proof they recieved but they still said they never recieved it, so after many phone calls some managment type told us to send again and he would look out for it, result, they received it, nightmare just begins.

They then had to organise with a company to pick the item up, we had a call to tell us the schedule date, wife stayed in all day and no one came, wife rang after 6:30pm which is the cut off for them turning up and they said the driver was at the other end of the country and wouldn't make it and would be here the day after, same thing, except when we called again, another advisor said he doesn't know why we were told someone was coming because it wasn't even on the computer.. so more back and forth we eventually get it picked up..

Now after more calls, we eventually got it to their refund department, had a call saying we would recieve payment in 7 working days, that passed, we called again, they guy said he doesn't know why they said that because it's 10 working days, we wait an extra two week, which is today, now we call and they say both the last calls were incorrect because they don't even have it on their computer that they had recieved the faulty item back  I've been putting off a claim using MCOL down to trust (silly me) and not understanding how it works..

So Medion suck without a doubt, but advice with MCOL what would happen if I started a claim, pay the court costs and the day after payment arrived from Medion ? that's one of my major concerns, as the unit refund would only be £60 so is it even worth it ? it's starting to get me down and the wife so in a bit of a tizwaz at the moment, along with extra costs for postage and calls which makes the refund less.

Any advice on MCOL would be greatly appreciated, and any views from people on how you solved it when going throught the same thing with Medion would be also interesting.

Sorry for the long post, but short of posting here with the knowledgable people I have no where to turn.

Thanks for reading.

Nik.

Keep complaining to Medion, ask for the managing directors name, and ask for the contact details in Germany, and tell them you will be writing to the German managing director, they absolutely hate that.

We had problems with faulty PDAs/Sat Navs, in the end we got a full refund, an MP3 player, a 17" LCD monitor and a couple of DECT phones for our inconvience.
Don't give up, just put it in writing.

Thanks for that, the weight feels a little lighter I'm not just a one off as we did get a semi-automated robot letter saying how they appreciate feedback etc and they will resolve quickly, the irony being it got worse, I shall follow up on your advice tommorow now I have day off work, thanks again.

ok, I've just rung them, this women said we were told it was going be 10 days yesterday lol, even said we were told.. this is really an !!!! and elbow setup they seem to have, anyway, I followed your advice asked for the MD's name, took her about 10minutes to grasp what and MD was, said she can't tell me and if I wanted to complain, they have a complaints department, I said ok, then tell me the address for the German office so I can write to the MD there, she was taken aback thinking it was an odd request and laughing at me and so on, I said fair enough I'll find it out myself quoting that she wouldn't give me any details about anything, anyway she disappeared for a bit and came back with the UK MD's name (I assume, could be a colleague as far as I know, still no Germany contact info though), so that's something, but judging by the whole setup he has to already know what a farce Medion house is.

They reckon someone is going to call Monday, yeah right, will keep updating.

    Thx again.
