Hi,
I have been forced to format my hard drive after committing an act of monumental stupidity which left my pc unable to boot up (in any mode)
I'm now going through the painful motions of starting over.
I was missing a couple of vital drivers (sound and video)
I have managed to get sound up and running again, but not having any luck with vid
my graphics card is an old radeon 9200, I've tried the ATI site and using the driver update on my control panel with no succes....any suggestions would be gratefully received

I've been using ATi cards for a while now, I suggest 4.12 is the best driver for your card. The newest drivers require Microsoft .NET Framework and dont really offer anymore performance on the older ATi's.0 -
Have you tried OmegaDrivers?0

sorry if I'm being thick and wasting your time guys, but.....
Boogimasters link works, but when I click download, it doesn't work
T4i, I installed the driver you linked me to successfully, but it didn't work (I still cant play dvds or run video files
Tanglefoot, tried them but they don't seem to have a radeon 9200 driver
I've done all kinds of searches....never imagined it would be this much hassle...we should go back to writing things down on paper, when I were a lad, etc *grumble*I'm only here for the banter0 -
Look harder:dark_star wrote:Tanglefoot, tried them but they don't seem to have a radeon 9200 driverJust select your OS type in the top menu to get to the drivers download page.
The Omega Drivers are compatible with all ATI Radeon cards:
(it doesn't matter if they are DDR, SDR, PCI, PCI-E, AGP, Mobile, Retail, OEM or 3rd Party)
Radeon All In Wonder
Radeon 7x00/VE/LE
Radeon 8500/LE
Radeon 9x00/SE/Pro/XT/TX
Radeon xX00/SE/Pro/XT/PE
All Mobility Radeons (M6 and up)Like nVidia, ATi's video drivers are provided in a single package that supports all of their cards. If you have Windows 2000 or XP, look here. For Windows 95, 98 or ME, look here.
As for this:
Video drivers do not magically allow you to play videos or watch DVDs; you need something extra for those. For the former, you need the correct codec; for the latter, a software DVD player.dark_star wrote:I still cant play dvds or run video files0
