    The best freeview boxes are the ones you can record on.. they cost most but are worth it. If you just want to watch freeview then you can get cheap ones from most places, Argos, Asda, Currys etc. You cant get ALL the freeview channels unless you get the Thompson PVR freeview box with topuptv and setanta sports option.

    There are some set top boxes that are better than others. I have had several and the best I have had so far is an ONN OSTBO1 which I got from ASDA. I have seen it on ebay.
    For me the important difference is that;
    it has two scart sockets, which makes connection easier,
    it shows the programme I am watching on a small screen when I am checking programme information.
    It has a 7day programme guide.

    I think it was about the £20 mark.
    I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
    I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!

    PVR Personal Video Recorder. Try wikipedia

    I already had. That's why I am having trouble understanding the people who make a distinction between pvr and dvd recorder.

    I don't think there is a proper definition but generally PVR's do not record from external sources, whereas DVD/HDD recorders will. Also DVD/HDD recorders rarely have twin tuners.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.
