    Hello

Here's a link to how the first ones are made, looks really easy, but I don't drink coffee and don't think they recommend using tissue paper, anyone got any suggestions as to what else I could use?

    Thanks

Whats wrong with using tissue paper??? If you use double thickness it works fine. Also crepe paper is quite thick and handmade silk paper would work well.

Just thinking that by using the coffee/tea filters you are limiting yourself colourwise.

I'm not sure, someone said they'd tried the tissue paper and it didn't give the same effect or something like that?

I think the people who used the filters coloured them by using some water paints on them and wetting them?

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think the paper of a coffee filter will act a bit like blotting paper and if you add water/colour it will kind of blend into the paper and give a nice effect.
Not sure where cheapest coffee filters would be to buy.. poundland/netto/aldi? not sure.
    They look nice though.

Sorry about that, but the name paper roses always reminds me of THAT song by Marie Osmond (quite nice actually) but some of you youngsters won't have a clue what I'm on about... ;)
