Laminate floor quote

I've had a quote of £500 to lay 25sqm of laminate flooring. This is for labour only and I'm to supply all materials (laminate, underlay, waterproof sheeting etc) so does this sound about right?

Only got the one quote so far as this person has been recommended so would prefer to use him if his quote is fair.
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”

Yep, that sounds about right. The average cost for labour is around the £20-£30 per m2 mark.

I'd do it myself. I laid it in my kitchen, hall and living room myself. Get a half decent jigsaw and your laughing. The only difficult bits are when you have to cut longwise through a piece.

We've already attempted that one in one of the bedrooms, and while it looks ok it's far from perfect! This laminate is going to be far more expensive though (Quickstep 950) so I would prefer a pro to lay it, especially as it will be on view to all and sundry who visit my house! ;)

12-15 pounds is more reasonable on a job like this

Sorry Jas, I'm with Alex on this. Laminate labour is £10 - £12 psm and if theres extra like the damp sheets etc then I would also agree £12 - £15 psm.

no way over £20. If it was solid wood yes.

300 is about fair. 500 is a bit much but if he is good, maybe worth paying the extra.
