Orange wireless livebox connection probs

hi

this afternoon our internet connection stopped working, i thought it was just because of the horrible weather and left it til about an hour since when i rang orange technical support who talked me through a few bits and then said they would do a line test to see what was happening as nothing else was doing anything. kept saying ppp server down

i have ended up reconnecting our old speedtouch modem thing and that is connecting fine

has anyone else had problems like this with the livebox? and if so how is it fixed. could it be the weather - but if thats the case how come i can get the speedtouch to work?

any suggestions or advice gratefully received - im very grumpy when i cant get to MSE!
