Which Referance Books For Architecture Degree??

Hey There

Can anyone help DH please?

He is starting his BA Architecture degree in september and would like to know in advance what ref books etc he will need to get? It is a 4 year part time degree.

We dont have a lot of money, so thought we may start looking at Ebay, Amazon, Bootsales etc to find as cheap as possible.

If anyone can help-that would be great!

Ask the college where he will be studying? I can't see that there will be one answer which covers all architecture courses at all colleges, it must depend on what is covered in the first year. But there are some threads about cheap places to get academic books, have a look at some of them. And don't rush to buy anything too fast, use libraries, and see what's worth having first.

Definately dont buy books yet!! Often, the course module guide which they give you at the beginning of each module/year states the primary texts he will need, and often enough, students sell their text books at that time to the newcomers, for reduced prices. In his department there will be a notice board, tell him to look out lots of fluttering bits of paper screaming 'for sale' in highlighter pens - it'll save a fortune and ensure he and the tutors are reading from the same page as it were....
