Freecom FHD3 External Hard drive advice needed

Is anybody using a Freecom FHD3 external hard drive, either the 160 or 250gb version?

We're thinking of getting one of these following a hard disk loss on the laptop. I'm a little wary that there is something called Freecom one sync and Acronis backup software. I'm planning on installing Norton Antivirus and Norton Ghost onto the laptop.

Will I need to install Ghost, or will the one sync or Acronis do the automatic backing up for me. If not, are the Norton products likely to be incompatible with the Freecom software?

I've had so many problems with software incompatibility which have cost a lot of computer-expert-time-and-money to sort out, I'd rather know in advance if there is something I shouldn't be doing.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I do desktop publishing so I end up with quite some substantial sized files. I know the 160gb/250gb might sound a lot, but the 250gb costs only £130-ish compared with around £80 for a 80gb, plus it looks a bit more future-proof being wireless.

    Thanks for this info

Just been down to PC world, not to buy, but for a little look and a chat. Seems like I won't need Norton Ghost as the one button sync thing on the Freecom will do it for me, so that'll save me £30 off what I was expecting to pay.

Think I'm going to get the 250gb Freecom. Need to do something as the hard-drive on the laptop looks like it's failed again for the second time in a week. Won't buy Evesham again.
