I want to fly from Heathrow to Glasgow tomorrow (friday)
How do i go on standby and how much will it typically cost?
How does standby work? Is it when flight is not full??

NO SUCH THING AS STANDBY
If you turn up at the airport and ask for a seat, they will sell you one - AT THE FULL PRICE0 -
The only people I know who travel standby these days are airline staff who can travel for free or almost free if there is room on the flight, so they go 'standby' and hope there is a seat.0

Agree with the others. A flight on the day is likely to be quite expensive.
Cheapest direct flight I can see is £196 single with bmi.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Airlines haven't done standby tickets for years.
It won't be cheap, if you haven't booked anything today it will probably be more expensive tomorrow:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j
