still trying to find an answer to this.if i divide my house to form 2 dwellings will i have to pay cgt.i will be keeping 1 as my residence and using the sale of the other to clear the morgage on the 1 i keep.

That's a good one. I will be interested to see the responses from the experts out there. My understanding is that you can sell your main residence up to three years after moving out without liability for CGT but just how relevant that is in this case I'm not sure.0
