Following a scary moment this am where I thought my computer had died - I burned some important data using nero and cdrw (new)
Went to put it on my laptop for safekeeping and got the message "e is not accesible incorrect function"
Tried the same on my pc and got the same message!!!
any thoughts of why this might be happening?

What sort of data did you burn to the disc? How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I see it's a new CD rewriter. Is this the first time you have tried using it, or have you burned something else that has worked?
Before getting any more technical, one of the biggest problems I have found is the type of disc you use. Sometimes cheap discs cause you more problems than they are worth. Better to use a decent branded disc to write to. You get less coasters.
Try burning a different file onto disc, and see if this has worked. If not, try a different type of disc. If it works with this, then problem solved. If not, come back here and we will try to help you with a couple of different things.

No rex its not a new one been in for 3 years plus and working ok.
I am using maxwell discs new which I hope are ok (theyre dear enough!)
its like Im not authorised to access them which is crazy coz its just my computer!

Make sure the drive that you're copying the data from is well defragged, as this can cause errors when writing. If the disk can't supply the data fast enough it'll trip over itself, so to speak.
Another possible reason for the error may be the dye used in the cd. I used to have no problems at all with Orange-top Bulkpaq DVD-RWs but about half way through one pack of 25 they just stopped working.
I found out later that the dye used on the recordable layer had been changed. Result: 13 duff DVD-RWs.
Try out another brand for a bit (noting the dye used) and see if this makes a difference.
Hope this helps.Boo!0
