Hi all
Having a bad day with the computer today so have posted a couple of different threads.
When I turned it on this am it started to boot and then I got this red message which said something along the lines of "System Halt. error switch from slave to master"
It did say more but I didnt write it down instead just turned it off and back on again (the nelski solution to all known problems) it booted up fine and has done a couple more times since but I have this sense of impending doom!!
Do you think I need to worry - if so anything I can do?

I though the red screen of death was a Microsoft Longhorn feature. This is feature is meant to be in addition to the blue screen version. Can you improve your cooling to your system by taking the side off your PC case ?. What firewall, anti-spyware and anti-virus software are you running ? You don't say what operating system you are running and the service pack. Are you upto date with patches etc ?

    he means windows updates

if you click on "start" button on the bottom left, then "All Programs" there is a "windows Update" link

make sure you are fully up to date...I more suspect that there is a problem with a component like the hard disk or a loose connection
