Covering the cost of a funeral

I'm looking for advice on a policy which will cover the costs of a funeral in the event of my death. I'm 61 and have been covered by my works pension until now for a large enough sum to pay for everything. Now I need to take out something to ensure my daughters don't have to cough up the money. I don't plan an elaborate funeral - absolute basics with no service or anything - cremation. I don't have enough cash to pay up front - so advice would be welcome.

You can either buy a funeral expenses plan from a funeral director or a whole of life assurance policy from an insurer.
