Car Hire Excess Insurance nd Travel Insurance

Normally I hire a car a few times a year and take out car hire excess insurance with Insurance4carhire and a travel insurance policy with whoever has the best deal but I see that American Express has a Prestige annual travel insurance policy which includes cover for car hire excess. I am no expert on the details of insurance policies but reading the policy document it seems to give the same if not better cover than the Insurance4carhire policy. The only problem seems to be it doesn't cover you for damage to the underside of the vehicle. Does anyone use or know anything about this policy? Any advice appreciated.
