I have been reading all your replys and I agree diet must play a big part in all of this, so Ive been shopping and bought no crisps fizzy juice etc. Bought loads of fruit and veg chicken and decided to start from scratch cooking healthy meals instead of ready made meals. I know it will take a while for me to notice a diffrence through diet. I have also found an ADHD group near me so planning a visit to them next week I've heard they test strands of their hair to see what minerals they lack and what if anything they have a reaction to. They also do a lot of alternative therapy so Im looking forward to it.The thing that really annoys me about his "illness" is how he can't control his temper and lashes out before stopping to think the hurt he is causing his two brothers.Waddle you do eh?0

Hi Jellyhead,
Wow, you could be talking about my Daughter, she too gets the eczema you describe if she has cow's milk, and sunshine yellow should be banned.
She had been so good for so long we allowed her to have a piece of Easter Egg that my Mum had bought (why do people do that?) that was a Cadbury's cream egg one as we felt so bad at saying no, she had 2 mouthfulls and literally went up the wall!
No joke we were sittting in the kitchen and she started flinging herself at the wall laughing hysterically, we were all in fits as it was so funny, but she soon calmed down and got really depressed, needless to say she hasn't had it since.
She doesnt go for brightly coloured sweets, she simply doesnt think about it, she's fine with chocolate, she has the 70% cocoa one that has no milk, and we just avoid sugar on the whole, she doesn't miss it.
She was never given a diagnosis, she was classed as having 'Autistic tendancies' (ie would not allow anyone to cuddle her, needed a strict routine) but when tested was not on the autistic spectrum, I took her to a Homeopath who said that vaccines can mimic the symptoms of Autism so reversed them Homeopathicaly and gave her something to help get rid of the Mercury from her system.
Aparantly the vaccines contain mercury that the body cant get rid of, it settles in the intestines and brain, it worked perfectly albeit very slowly, and 8 months later she came up to me, gave me a huge hug and kiss and said I love you Mummy
Bless her, she nows kisses me and My Husband all the time although she is still very tight with the affection with everyone else although she will now hug her younger cousins, and give hugs goodbye.
My Daughter also had social problems that was really hard but she has overcome them now and has 3 best friends who are little sweeties, she is going to secondary school in September with 2 of them.
She still had the fish oil and vitamin drops that I feel do her good and make me feel secure that she's not missing anything.
Panicos, I have spoken to my friend who has the little boy, she said he has ADD not ADHD, but she is seeing a Doctor at https://www.tinsleyhouseclinic.co.uk who she says is fab, it's a way from you but aparantly he has people coming from abroad to see him!
The fees are very reasonable, £150 for the first session, then £50 thereafter, my friend said she too was desperate as her son went to throw a snooker ball at his baby Brother, their outbursts can be very serious, but as you say it's an illness and he can't help it, I know you are desperate but you have made that very important first step, and you will start to see a very big improvement very soon.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Hi all, well my sons been fighting at school again. Went to school they did'nt listen they just said you can't keep blaming it on his illness??? Well what am I suppose to blame it on.
Complained to Head of Education and asked for a meeting , I went yesterday very intresting. I asked her what the Councils policy is on ADHD kids or any kid that had a behaviour problem well she could'nt answer me why because they do not have one. I then asked if they don't have one then are the teachers trained to deal with kids like this again she said no and did say this would be addressed at the next meeting.Anyway she has arranged for him to be assest by a behaviour specialist (which is a start did'nt even know they had one)I also have an appointment with the Head teacher for next week to discuss what other plans of action they can put in place. I'd be grateful if any of your schools do have some sort of policy on ADHD if you could feed it back to me so I'll be armed with information before I go.Waddle you do eh?0 -

Thought I'd update you on my sons progress. Went to the meeting this morning me two head teachers my sons teacher and the educational psychologist and at last things are moving. The behavioural psychologist was fantastic. He was new to this area and he was 100% on my side, anyway my son now has a communication book that will be written in everyday. He is also going to get information for me groups etc. As my sons first language is not English he is going to start the ball rolling for extra help with this as he says it takes 7 years for him to fully understand English he is also going to get information for him to keep his first language up as it is Greek. He also wants me to get in contact with him in a months time without the teachers. I did mention to him that there is no policy at the school for ADHD kids he has come from another area and although new he has also concerns about this and children falling through the net. the teachers also mentioned thatmy son had refused to take his medication at school I expressed concern at this as I think it is important to be informed. Anyway I hope this is a start and things will look up after this, will keep you informed of his progress as I have a long way to go yet.Waddle you do eh?0
