Scam or not...???

I guess the answer to whether or not this is a scam or not is probably that if i need to ask, it most likely is, but i'm curious to know if anyone has received an email like this before and if it is a scam, what exactly is the scam behind it..???

This is the email i received read on....

Dear Future Employee,

We have received your contact information from career builder employment agency.
We thought that you might be interested in part time position to work from home
with our company. My name is Robert Meister, project coordinator and your direct
supervisor at MLB-International.com. Please read the information bellow about
our company and your job description.

MLB-International.com is young multinational company. We work in many
countries, and have over 5 established offices worldwide. Our company is
engaged in correspondence management, escrow and distribution services
worldwide.

Currently we are expanding and have a limited number of job opportunities
available. There is no start-up cost or any other fee to begin working with
us.

Job description:

Person, who is accepted for this position, will perform these tasks:

1. Establish a virtual office: receive the correspondence from our company or
clients to his/her residential address, answer project related e-mails, and
perform a limited number of phone calls / customer support. Act as a general
support to our customers and clients.

2. Facilitate the sales transactions for the clients. We have clients; we just
need customer support from local representatives. MLB-International will
organize the sales, marketing and delivery campaigns. Our manager will inform
you when the deal is expected to turn up.

3. Perform general customer support. All instructions will be given for each
transaction. There will be supervisors available to answer any question and
provide you with the general support.

4. We pay the compensation of 15 GBP per hour for all coordinated transactions.
Plus you will receive a commission for completed sales. Commission for sales
will be paid out after each transaction. Also we have a rating system and bonus
systems for the quarterly review. Your wages will be paid every two weeks from
the start of your employment by direct deposit to your bank account. You must
have a bank account to receive wages from us. Dependant on your work results,
you might be promoted to the management positions within 3-6 months.

Requirements:

1. Access to computer and phone during normal business hours. Our clients can
call you during the day therefore we will need you to have access to computer
and phone. You might have to work on the several tasks at once. You have to be
able to read and follow simple written instructions well. Your English should be
at a proficient level.

2. Responsible. There could be confidential information transmitted though your
hands. We need someone who can handle it well. Remember that you will represent
our company and our clients therefore we will expect you to work to the best of
your abilities.

3. Work with minimum amount of supervision. We hope that you are mature
individual and will be able to work with minimum supervision after initial
training period.

4. Work well under pressure. This is business and many things could happen.
Therefore we want someone who wont back off at the first difficult
situation.

...It is plausible in as much that i could quite possibily have registered with such an employment agency and forgotten about it as i have registered with several - your thoughts, oh wise ones!

thanks for the web address, i have looked at it and it does appear to be relatively above board so i am tempted, however i would just not ever really want to give my bank details out for something like this, so that prevents me taking it any further - last year i found a 'homeworking' opportunity that initially sounded a bit iffy and it was also an email that found it's way mysteriously into my inbox from god only knows where - it basically involved calling companies to ascertain email addresses for finance deparments to send out information on financial software packages (spam i guess), it was genuine and for the period of time that i did it i was always paid on time into my ban account, no quibble, although the ethics of what i was doing made me cut it short as spam is naughty, although the company i undertook the work for assured me that it wasn't spam, merely advertising.... It is always difficult when your !!!!!! is against the wall financially to not consider these sort of opportunities, cos if for example this 'opportunity were genuine it would certainly solve my cash flow crisis while i am studying and mean i wouldn't have to give up my valuable evenings away from my books etc, i could do this at the same time,and no outlay...
If anyone else reads this and has any further input i would be grateful - as i hate to admit it, i am still tempted... Guess i haven't had my fingers burnt yet have i..!

There's a scam which works like this. Scammer recruits employees to "facilitate the sales transactions for clients" on a commission basis. The employee takes delivery of goods which they have to ship on to various addresses. Trouble is, the goods have been bought on-line with stolen or cloned credit cards with the employees home as the delivery address. The "ship to" addresses which the employee is given are mugs who buy the cheap goods from eBay (on their credit cards which then get used to order further "stock"). The scam only turns nasty when the credit card company reports the credit card fraud and the police turn up at the employees home, by which time he has fenced thousands of pounds worth of stolen goods. Police then visit the eBay customer and recover the stolen goods. I'm not saying that this is what's happening here, but I'd be very careful...
