Stain on back wall from boiler pipe

Options
Hi all,

Just settling in to new home. Got a slight problem with the combi boiler though. I have got a Borsch Worcester boiler. However there is a big brown stain on the back wall, which starts from the pipe coming out of the boiler onto the wall.

Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of the problem. The boiler is working fine, but makes a slight noise when in operation. Not sure if that is normal.

Many thanks in advance

Sounds like the pressure relief value has been dripping, have you been losing pressure on the boiler?
You will need brick cleaning acid to remove the stain, any local builders merchant will stock it(us saftey eqipment/googles and gloves).

thanks plumb1, to answer the question regarding the pressure, i haven't been losing any pressure on the boiler.

I think i may be overreacting, seeing as the house was occupied by the ex owners's tenants.

I will just get some quotes to see how much it will cost me to replace the pressure relief valve.

Many thanks for the info again.
