Paypal payment question

Hi
I recently joined paypal and for some reason every payment i have is going through as an e-cheque and taking 9days.
I have a separate account for my paypal (not my main account) and do a money transfer over the phone and the money goes into the account linked up to my paypal straight away but even if a wait a few hours or even 24 hours later to pay for my ebay item it is still going through as a echeque.
Sorry if its a silly question but my brothers doesnt do so i am not sure why mine is, does it maybe do the 1st few transactions as an echeque because i am new to paypal?

Do you have a credit card linked to your Paypal account? If you have no up-to-date credit card on file it will prevent you from making instant payments from your bank account!0

Have you been sent a new debit card recently? This can happen when your old card details have expired.My TV is broken!

no its not a new one. does it maybe do it for your 1st few transactions as am new to paypal?
Its an election card sorry my mistake debit is another card i have.
