I finished my uni course in June & have not heard anything from the SLC...is this normal? When do they send me info on exactly how much I owe etc etc etc?0

Sounds normal to me. I didn't hear anything for a year and a half after I graduated. Don't worry about it. Come to think of it I've never recieved a statement showing the total amount I borrowed, just showing two of the years.Nice to save.0

i think they first get in touch either the april or september after you graduate.
i think new loans are taken from your earnings yes, but mine was more than ten years ago, we had to fill in a direct debit form and they take it from the bank account. each april i have to fill in a form saying i don't earn enough to pay it back, send the form back to them and if they don't receive it they use the direct debit to take the money from my account. i cancelled the direct debit, they keep asking me to fill in my current bank account details but i won't, i don't want a repeat of what happened when my deferment letter went missing!52% tight0 -
i'm lucky, i have two seperate loans, totalling about 4k left on them now
i've been paying one of them off at a minimum £58 a month for about 5 years now, and it's almost gone :-)
then i'll pay off the other at the minimum amount, even after i've emigrated!money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

i feel really sick about this. i can't remember how much i owe & when i should start paying it off, but if the interest rate is rising, i just want to pay it off asap.0
