Avoiding explaining the epic that is our house transfer....
but the solicitor arranging it said today that he can't arrange the transfer of the deeds of my boyfriends parents house into my name and his name as we are not married. He can only act on behalf of my boyfriend and his parents as I am not family. He said to hire a solicitor to act for me and arrange the transfer from my point of view would cost £1700 + VAT
The other option is to put it all in my boyfriends name so we don't hold up the transfer and then change it into both names afterwards, but that will still attract fees but I was wondering if anyone has had experience of this and might know how much it would cost to get a name put on deeds? Will obviously phone up in the morning but could really do with having an idea tonight.
Grrrr I told my boyfriend years ago we should have got married, its caused endless headaches.
