How to back up a program?

I want to ack up a couple ofactual programs onto a dvd. How do I do this, ie so i could reinstall them from the dvd? I have tried before but I don't seem to be getting the right files to actually install the program. Using nero by the by.

I thought that you needed the original program disk or downloaded file as when a programme is installed files are put all over the place especially in the registry - of course i could be wrong and would be more than happy to be proved so.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

yes i think so. I have a program i paid for and got from the internet I'd like to back up.0

Did you 'Save to disk' the file you downloaded from the internet, if so this is the one you need to archive along with your activation/registration code.
Some vendors allow you to download again for free if you have the appropriate proof of purchase.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
